What is the IPD team?

 

The International Patient Department (IPD) of Fajr Hospital brings together hospital management, an IPD coordinator, physicians, specialists, nurses and a pharmacist to organise care for international patients. The team helps coordinate enquiries, admission, clinical services, discharge and follow-up. Clinical decisions remain the responsibility of the treating medical team.

Key responsibilities

  Provides preliminary cost estimates and required documents
  Welcomes the patient on arrival and coordinates interpreters
  Coordinates admission, discharge, payment and airport transfer if requested
  Keeps IPD records, statistics and reports; notifies the embassy when legally required
  Follows up after discharge via email or messaging

IPD Physician

IPD Physician (GP)

Follows the medical care of international patients throughout their hospital stay.

Key responsibilities

  Performs the initial visit and takes history on admission
  Refers the patient to, and coordinates with, the admitting specialist
  Arranges timely diagnostics and consultations with nursing managers
  Visits each patient daily and follows up emergencies
  Prepares the medical summary and discharge report for the patient

Specialist Physician

Specialists in neurology, orthopaedics, infectious diseases, internal medicine and ophthalmology who lead treatment in their field.

Key responsibilities

  Assesses medical records and advises on eligibility for treatment

  Explains options and risks, and obtains informed consent
  Performs procedures and follows the patient until discharge

Ensures safe, understandable medication use for international patients.
